According to the amendment to the 2014 Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), any company which files for exemption of the EEG levy in accordance with §§ 63 ff. EEG 2014 must operate a system designed to improve its energy efficiency. Moreover, it is in a company’s own interests to increase its efficiency by establishing transparency of all energy flows, to optimise processes, to identify costs-saving potential, and to contribute to reducing its CO² emissions. HERMOS is now offering FIS#energy, a system certified in accordance with DIN EN 50001 which is certified to improve the energy of businesses and institutions.
FIS#energy is an efficient system based on standard components and open technologies:
Energy and media consumption information can be collected by HERMOS energy data concentrators (EDC). The EDCs collect measured data from any meters or directly at the consumer installation. Connection of pulse counters or bus interfaces such as M-Bus or Modbus, etc. are also possible, along with remote transmission of meter values via UMTS/GSM. Increased data security and operational reliability are guaranteed by the local intermediate data storage system on the EDCs.
The consumption figures collected are shown in graphic form in FIS#energy and assessed. For this purpose load profile diagrams, load duration curves, charts showing daily, monthly and annual consumption and grids are available. Sankey diagrams can be used to visualise energy flows and quantity flows. The adjustment for climatic conditions allows comparison of the consumption data collected during different timeframes.
Virtual meters (calculated values) support the planning of energy consumption and costs. Consumption can be allocated to cost centres and user-specific figures (energy performance indicators such as kWh per batch or product) can be established. An interface to Excel and ERP systems (e.g. SAP), allows the collection of the data for documentation purposes or further processing.
The data collected offer the basis for measures aimed at improving energy efficiency, such as adaptation of process flows or investment in systems technology. The EDK 200 load shedding controller is available for load management purposes. Switching individual consumers on or off at certain times can delay energy consumption and thus avoid peak loads.
FIS#energy can be seamlessly integrated in or extended by HERMOS’ management and control level FIS#facility. As a manufacturer-neutral, open-system platform, it thus offers any number of options for technical facility management and energy management.
HERMOS is an international group of companies which operates in the fields of automation and information processing.
HERMOS’ core competencies are automation and integration solutions for machinery and plant in the fields of industry, facilities & buildings, energy, the environment, track & trace and switchgear, for which it develops and implements the best possible solutions. These solutions are based on HERMOS’ own software platform FIS# as well as RFID components developed in-house.
